Our Team
Dr. Braaten grew up in Kiev Ukraine. After finishing
veterinary school in Ukraine, she moved to Canada and completed her exams to
gain her certification to work as a veterinarian in Canada.
In 2012, she opened
Countryside Pet Hospital. She enjoys every aspect of veterinary medicine, most
of all she loves seeing sick pets get better and bring joy to their human
companions. Dr. Braaten supports local rescues and owns 5 rescue animals.
Andrii has been a familiar face at Countryside for the past 11 years.
He graduated from veterinary school in Ukraine and is now enjoying working as a
veterinary nurse. In his spare time, Andrii enjoys reading, cooking and gardening.
Evan is a third year Biology student at Camosun College.
Since an early age, he has loved animals of all kinds and wanted to choose a career working in
the animal health field. He shares his home with three rescue dogs and two cats.
In his spare time he loves soccer and spending time with his friends.
Cadence has always had a big heart for animals and has cared for all kinds
over the years—dogs, cats, birds, and small animals.
Due to this, she will
always take the chance to cuddle a patient, who needs it. When she is not at the
front desk, Cadence enjoys expressing her creativity in her pottery studio and
spending quality time with her dogs.
Courtney moved to Canada in the fall of 2023 from the UK and,
shortly after, joined our team as a veterinary receptionist. Courtney grew up
around horses, cats and dogs and due to her lifelong love for animals, went on to
attend an equestrian college. When Courtney is not at the clinic, she’ll be
somewhere outside – hiking, paddle boarding or just exploring nature.
